Research Support and Communication

The Research Support and Communication office supports IRS research in an integrative way. From proposal writing to the publication of research results, their dissemination and implementation in transfer and research communication: The office supports researchers conceptually, strategically and content-wise in all project phases and communiaction needs, and thus helps to strengthen the academic and non-academic impact of their research.

As a central unit, the office consolidates a variety of services under one roof:

  1. Research Funding: Information on funding opportunities as well as advice and support in the development of research proposals.
  2. Public Relations: Consultation and support in communicating research, such as maintaining press contacts, managing the Institute's social media channels and website, and editing IRS publications, such as the Institute's magazine “IRS aktuell”.
  3. Knowledge Transfer: Consultation and support for a constructive dialogue with policy makers, administration, and civil society.
  4. Visualization: Support in the visual presentation of research and the continuous development of the Institute's corporate identity.
  5. Events: Organization of research-related event series, including the “IRS Spring Academy”, “IRS International Lectures on Society and Space”, “IRS Seminars” as well as the “Brandenburg Regional Talks” aimed at social practice.
  6. Library and Publication Management: Support for the literature and information needs of the institute's researchers as well as advice on publication and Open Access.

In addition, the Research Support and Communication office advises and supports the board in dealing with strategic and communication requirements for excellent research, internationalization, organizational development and internal communication. The office coordinates cross-departmental research planning and evaluation activities, as well as the IRS Fellowship Programme. Furthermore, it maintains the institutionalised collaboration with regional and international partners of the Institute and alumni relations.
